The Heart Behind a Million Prayers

Today I spent an hour in Adoration at our grotto chapel. There's something about the quiet that allows me to focus and bring my concerns to God without distractions. As I prayed, I silently asked Him to help keep my heart in the right place.

Lately, that's been on my mind as an author making daily decisions about advertising, social media posts, and networking. Writing a book has its challenges. I spent more than two years writing, fine-tuning, editing, gathering feedback from beta readers, and editing again. Then came the search for an illustrator who truly understood the message and vision. It all begins with hope—an idea placed on your heart—and there's such joy when the final artwork and manuscript become exactly what you envisioned.

The initial book launch is exciting because I truly believe this book can be a positive force in a challenging world. I believe it gives children an opportunity to live with greater gratitude and discover a deeper connection with God in their everyday lives.

But there's a fine line between focusing on marketing a book and sharing something you genuinely believe can bless others. I never want it to feel like it's just about selling books.

So, whenever I share my book, I picture millions of prayers rising to God.

I pray that it reaches families and helps them discover a new way of seeing God in everyday life. My hope is that children experience what it means to "pray without ceasing." If a child begins to recognize that every breath, every heartbeat, every step, every laugh, and every moment of wonder can become a prayer, imagine the lifelong connection they can build with God.

Then I picture all those prayers being lifted up for Emma. I imagine them helping her grow stronger and reach new milestones. Because the proceeds from every book help support Emma and her special needs, children also learn the beautiful gifts of empathy, generosity, and charity. That gives every copy an even deeper purpose.
